am listening to one of jay chou’s latest output and all i can say is..
WHOT?!?!?
autotuned beyond recognition coupled with cringe-worthy lyrics. a vast difference from the jay chou i used to chase around in a taxi ten years ago, and the first few albums (especially his debut) that i love so much.
of course, musical directions evolve over time, but i’d to believe this negative change is due to pressure – after all, artistes have a record label to answer to and shit like that. i think that maybe he just go on a loooong hiatus and chew on his cud for awhile before coming out with something fresh, instead of churning out inferior music yearly just cos his company tells him to.
and also.. WHAT’S UP with his fashion sense?! dude needs a stylist pronto, or at least he should fire his current one. really, knuckle bruisers and fur jackets?!
